Prepare and serve meals for the Chesapeake Cares Resource Center (2255 Steppingstone Sq.). If you enjoy cooking or serving, we’d love for you to join us! We’ll meet in the St. Thomas kitchen on the second Wednesday of each month at 1:00 PM. Cooking will take place from 1:00–3:00 PM, followed by meal service from 3:30–5:00 PM. Our first event is scheduled for June 11th. For more information or to get involved, please contact Kate McKone-Sweet at 781-856-8044.
The Chesapeake Cares Resource Center helps those who are experiencing homelessness meet their basic human needs. The Center provides access to showers, laundry services, breakfast and lunch, and a place to receive mail. It offers connection to employment and connection to medical services among other services. It is available to churches to provide winter sheltering through the CAST program.
